The purpose of the finance department is to function as a trustworthy steward of the tax payer's investment in education. The department strives to efficiently provide financial services to the District's School Board, Schools and Departments. This department is responsible for District's fiscal operations including:

Kathy Steinert - Director of Fiscal Services
Kathy Steinert is the Director of Fiscal Services with the Redmond School District. Kathy plays a key role in the development and execution of the District’s annual budget. In her position, she monitors actual spending versus the budget to ensure that allocated funds are being spent as appropriated by the School Board. Please contact Kathy for the following support: cost estimates and identification of funding sources for proposed positions or programs, questions about budget variances, requests for financial reports, requests for budget transfers or reallocations, identification of the appropriate account code to record an expense, requests for adding new account codes to your DAC (cost center), and any other Fiscal Services requests involving the budget.
Kathy has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where she studied accounting. She obtained her Certified Public Accountant license in New York State after practicing as an audit professional for Deloitte & Touche. Kathy’s varied background in accounting and financial analysis includes 12 years with the pharmaceutical giant, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company with roles in Financial Reporting, Internal Audit, Financial Analysis, Sales Administration and Pricing and Contracting.
Kathy and her husband moved to Central Oregon from the East Coast in 2005. As the mother of 4-year old twin daughters, she is a self-described “maxed out mom of multiples”. When not working at the District or home, she enjoys sleeping! Kathy is looking forward to biking, skiing and hiking with her family when her daughters can finally get dressed all by themselves.

Wanda Tigard - Accounting Supervisor
Wanda Tigard is the Accounting Supervisor for the Redmond School District. Wanda will be responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Grant and General Ledger accounting functions and will have budget responsibilities for our State and Federal grants. She will also be working with the fiscal team to improve on policies, procedures, processes, internal controls, and efficiencies within the department.
Wanda has an MBA from Oregon State University. She has a varied and extensive background in accounting, having owned her own consulting business for over a decade, served as the Finance Director for Housing Works and COIC, as well as in management level positions in the private sector. And … Wanda is a Redmond High School graduate! Go Panthers!

Sheri Solesbee – General Ledger Clerk
Sheri is the General Ledger Clerk for the Redmond School District. In this role, Sheri is responsible for Grant reconciliations, ASB (Student Body) Accounts, Bank Statement Reconciliations and General Ledger accounting.
Sheri is no stranger to Accounting, having spent 25 years working in the field prior to coming to the district, which has taught her the importance of being accurate and compatible with all personalities.
Sheri’s varied background in Real Estate, Manufacturing, Retail and Trucking Industry have provided the perfect foundation for the General Ledger Clerk position.
Sheri has lived in the Central Oregon/Redmond area for nine years. Sheri is married, has one son, three daughters and two grandbabies that all live in the Central Oregon area. Sheri enjoys spending time with her family, riding her horses, going team roping with her husband and doing miscellaneous craft projects.

Marc Balsalobre - Accounting Specialist
Marc is an Accounting Specialist for the Redmond School District. He has been with the district since September 2011. Marc provides general support to the business office and the district for the Accounts Payable (AP) function. Marc is the Fiscal Services primary point of contact for AP inquiries and issues. He provides assistance and guidance in completing the purchase order process, answering questions and routing requests. Marc also provides oversight and assistance to the business office and the district for purchasing processes and procedures.

Barbara Rodman – Payroll Specialist
Barbara has been Payroll Specialist for the Redmond School District for 5 years, handling all phases of payroll processing. Before joining the district, she spent 8 years as Payroll Specialist for another large local employer, giving her a total of 13 years of payroll experience. She is a member of the American Payroll Association as well as the Central Oregon Chapter of the American Payroll Association, and has been a Notary Public for 15 years. She is also your district contact for PERS matters. Barbara can help you with questions about your timesheet, your monthly pay, deductions or wage garnishments, direct deposit, PERS, and any other payroll related issues. Barbara is a native Oregonian who grew up in the Culver area, and has lived in Redmond for over 30 years.
