Child Abuse Prevention Training
Redmond School District requires all employees to complete
Child Abuse Prevention Training at the beginning of each school year.
Oregon Senate Bill 379, entitled “Child Abuse Training for School Employees, Parents and Students,” was passed in the 2007 legislative session. On June 20, 2007, Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski signed the bill, which says that schools in Oregon must provide child abuse prevention and identification training for school employees. Access to this training is to be made available to parents and legal guardians of students.
Employees may be creative in accomplishing this task, it may be done wherever an individual has web access. Individuals may begin the training at one time and finish later by saving the location they stop as a favorite in their browser. If an employee comes back to the training later, they may select the favorite from their internet browser favorites list to finish.
